Velvette Mattison-Batson is the CEO, of POYED by Velvette, Pinking of YOU Events & Design, LLC. She is a visionary, masterminding cutting-edge and classic happenings for her clientele. Meticulous, yet refreshingly charming, her vision transforms events into fantasy worlds of exquisite taste.  

 

Her attention to detail, project planning expertise, superb inventive style + hands-on approach is the formula for a POYED by Velvette Event. Mastering her craft, she is a certified I.E.W.P (International Event Wedding Planner); who oversees the day to day operations of Pinking of YOU Events and Design, LLC.  

 

Her Event - Catering, Designing, Management, Planning & Staffing Firm has a clear mission; to provide exemplary and comprehensive services for their clients allowing them to create memories to last a lifetime, while they feel like a guest at their own event! Her firm has catered for a max of 800 guests; Brooklyn’s own Emmanuel Baptist Church & St. Paul Community Baptist Church has serviced her firm for both small and large catering needs. POYED has also planned & managed P.R.a.D.A’s NYC Fashion Week – Shop Indie 4 A Cause Fashion/Trunk Shows in 2011, 2012, 2013 held at Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture & Mist Harlem Theater, the 2013 Spirit of a Women Culmination Gala at The Brooklyn Museum of Arts, the Annual Pink Pamper Expos, 3 Weddings and countless Baby Showers, Milestone Celebrations and Parties. Her clientele ranges from not for profit organizations, growth/spiritual groups, religious institutions and to individuals in both the private and public sector.   

 

Since January 2014 Velvette has had the honor to be an active member of Peoples Resource and Development Association 501 c3 not for profits Board of Directors as Committee Chair.  She has served as an Ambassador for IM REALLY DOPE since May 2015 - a movement that inspires others to live in their purpose & help others find out what makes them really DOPE (Determined. Outstanding. Powerfully. Empowered). Velvette is committed to providing platforms through philanthropic events that give back as well as empower women and young girls, while supporting female entrepreneurs. She juggles life as a business owner, mom and wife while advancing her vision and managing her fulltime career as an Advertising Sales Operation Professional - for leading, corporate organizations such as BET Networks, FOX Cable Networks and currently WideOrbit Inc. In August, 2010 as Director of Ad Sales Planning & Operations she was honored for 10 years of dedicated service as an employee of BET Networks August 2010, in November, 2016 Velvette was celebrated as Wife.Mom.Entreprenuer’s 1st honoree - a community platform, whose purpose is to educate women on how to successfully juggle life as a wife, mom, and entrepreneur. In January 2017 Surprise the Struggling Inc. presented Velvette with a special recognition award for her generous commitment of Time, Support & Inspiration through the B2BAB Initiative. In July 2017, Velvette received a citation from the Office of the President, Borough of Brooklyn City of New York for her outstanding services and support to Brooklyn communities, its residents and those in need through her B2BAB Initiatives.

 

Velvette is the Founder & Creator of the “B2BAB” Initiatives as well as the Co-Founder & Co-Creator of the  PINK Pamper Expo & Fundraiser, a philanthropic Annual Event. All of which provide a platform designed to giving back and are geared to support, honor and bring awareness to charitable efforts or organizations making strides and impacting women in the community. These events support female owned business in various categories by providing an opportunity to connect with female consumers while increasing their brand awareness as well empower and inspire others to take action and do more.   

 

Blessed to Be a Blessing “B2BAB” is a series of quarterly fundraiser initiatives that support various causes by raising funds, collecting donated items and bringing awareness to issues that impact young girls, teenage girls and women living in our communities.  

B2BAB Core Annual Initiatives:

 

Blessing Bag Fundraiser & Help the Homeless Campaign: 4th quarter

• The B2BAB Blessing Bag Fundraiser is a unique give back opportunity-female empowerment platform for women and young girls to fellowship, giveback and network.

• Toiletry & Sanitary items are collected then and used to create and fill Blessing Bags and donated to homeless shelter(s) or charitable organization(s).  

       Prom Fairy Glam Makeover: 1st & 2nd quarters  

• Donors provide monetary contributions to Initiative Partners to provide “Glam Makeovers” during prom and graduation season.  

• Prom Fairy Glam Partners provide Glam Services at discounted prices to deserving young ladies graduating J.H.S. or H.S.

• Recipients receive Hairstyles, Makeup Applications + Manicures and Pedicures and experience a day of extra special treatment.

College Essentials & Dorm Necessities Fundraiser: 2nd – 3rd quarter  

• College Essentials & Dorm Necessities with words of encouragement are collected and donated to a young lady headed to a four year accredited college.  

Educational Arts & Crafts Drive: 3rd – 4th quarter

• Reading Books, Arts & Crafts and Activity Sets are collected and donated to a charitable organization that works with children.
